Comic reviews for the week of 11/9/11

Hot pick of the Week: Uncanny X-Force #17 The Dark Angel Saga: Chapter 7 (Marvel Comics) Rick Remender Writer/Jerome Opena Art

This is the true choice for top dog this week without any doubt. There was a good selection to choose from, just nothing that measured up to the marvelous story telling from Mr. Remender and the awesome eye popping master piece work laid out on the pages before you by Jerome Opena. This is the Apocalypse storyline that Marvel has not nailed down in years and years. The punch line is the major X nemesis of the X-Men, Apocalypse has not appeared on any of these pages and yet it still rings true to a devious plan put in motion by this awesome evil doer.

Also hot this week:

Green Lantern #3 (D.C. Comics) Geoff Johns Writer/Doug Mahnke Pencils

Avenging Spider-Man #1 (Marvel Comics) Zeb Wells Writer/Joe Madureira Art (Good to have him back in comic action)

Witchblade #149 (Top Cow/Image Comics) Ron Marz Writer/Stjepan Sejic Art (This weeks runner up, these guys always put out a great book)

Honorable mention:

Demon Knights #3 (D.C. Comics) Paul Cornell Writer/Diogenes Neves Pencils/Oclair Albert Inks

Grifter #3 (D.C. Comics) Nathan Edmondson Writer/Cafu Pencils

Wolverine #18 Regenesis (Marvel Comics) Jason Aaron Writer/Ron Garney Art

X-Men Legacy #258 (Marvel Comics) Mike Carey Writer/Steve Kurth Pencils

Artifacts #11 (Top Cow/Image Comic) Ron Marz Writer/Jeremy Haun Art

Dungeons & Dragons Neverwinter Tales: The Legen of Drizzt #3 (IDW Publishing) R.A. & Geno Salvatore Writers/Agustin Padilla Art

Star Trek/Legion of Super-Heroes #2 (IDW Publishing) Chris Roberson Writer/Jeffrey & Philip Moy Art

Not So Hot:

Joss Whedon's Dollhouse: Epitaphs #5 (Dark Horse Comics) Jed Whedon & Andrew Chambliss Writers/Cliff Richards Pencils

I do not want to sound like I am picking on this title, but I hated the whole deal. I must say atleast this issue I was some how able to turn the pages. It just did not work, not to mention the main heroine was missing for the whole series till the last issue.
