Review: Macross Plus

Macross Plus
Year 2005 Time: 90 Minute
Director/Mechanical Design

I really could not wait to do the review on this volume of the Macross saga, by far my favorite of all of them and don't see that changing soon. I thought Macross Zero being newer to the continuing Macross adventures might actually have a chance to topple this amazing and visually stunning volume. Even though Macross Zero has epic visuals and a solid story it does not have the flavor that emanates off Plus. Plus actually feels more Robotech like than Macross at times, with great dialogue and script to blow your mind. The 2-D art and 3-D computer generated art blend together flawlessly, where in other projects it sometimes fails miserably here it has worked out to be a masterpiece on so many levels.
Some of the players in Macross Plus
Isamu Dyson Myung Fang Lone
Lucy
Guld Bowman

The story in Plus takes place some 40 plus years after Macross Do You Remember Love on the planet Eden where The Ministry of Defense is testing and developing the next Veritech fighter for the defense force. Little do you know is that there is a dark past surrounding a love triangle between the major players of this saga. You will come to know all about Guld, Myung and Isamu and the dark secrets of there past. While in the present Guld and Isamu are on opposing sides of the fence with each flying a fighter from different manufacturers and Myung is the producer behind mega pop star Sharon Apple, a artificial intelligent singer. You live the lives of these characters through there lives as they all grapple for a foot hold to be at the top of there game. But as you know things never go off without a hitch. Action, Science-Fiction and Drama at its highest level. All brought to you by the legendary director Shoji Kawamori
