Comic Reviews for the Week of 1/15/14

Pick of the Week: Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Cry of Shadows #2 (Dark Horse Comics) Tim Siedell Writer/Gabriel Guzman Art

This is not the first mini series published by Dark Horse featuring the Dark Lord himself. I have really thought the quality of the art and stories on all the previous Vader series were amazing and top notch. Well a month ago I would of told you how I hated this chapter of Vader's story, well 30 days or so and I am here to praise this title. This book is by far the book I enjoyed most this week.

Runner-Up: Superman Wonder Women #4 (D.C. Comics) Charles Soule Writer/ Tony S. Daniel Pencils/Batt Inks

Never a big fan of these two characters unless there was a spotlighted artist or writer on there respective books. The bottom line is that this creative team is dealing with the cast just fine and putting out a damn good book!

Also Hot: Uncanny X-Force #16 (Marvel Comics), Uncanny X-Men #16 (Marvel Comics), Archer & Armstrong #17 (Valiant Ent.), Harbinger #20 (Valiant Ent.)

Honorable Mention: Star Wars Dawn of the Jedi: Force War #3 (Dark Horse Comics), Green Lantern Corps #27 (D.C. Comics), Justice League #11 Forever Evil tie-in (D.C. Comics), Amazing X-Men #3 (Marvel Comics), Nova #12 (Marvel Comics), All New X-Men #21 (Marvel Comics), G.I. Joe Special Missions #11 (IDW Publishing), G.I. Joe A Real American Hero! #198 (IDW Publishing), The Transformers More Than Meets The Eye #25 Dark Cybertron Chapter 6 (IDW Publishing), Unity #3 (Valiant Ent.)

Not So Hot: Carbon Grey #2 vol.3 (Image Comics) What started out as a master piece in volume 1 of Carbon Grey just lost it's momentum as the story progressed. Feeling very lost as this book got close to the end.
